Happy New Year! 2012 was a good year for myself and my family, we definitely had some Great times mixed with some not so good times. We are all looking forward to this upcoming year and while none of us make resolutions we do set goals. I have several goals for 2013 as it is my last full year in my third decade..and I am very much looking forward to the next decade..the BIG 4-0.
A few of the goals I have set deal with my weight loss and over all health. I first started Weight Watchers in August 2009 and in the first year I lost 60 pounds and was very active going to the gym several times a week. Well, since then I have found 20 pounds and become much less active (due to my own choice as well as some health issues). I am hoping to change that this year. I am back in the proper frame of mind and started exercising earlier this week. I am going to have an "AMAZING" Weight Watcher year ;)
Chuck and I have also set a goal to work on one home improvement project each month. We have been in our house for 8 years now and it is time for us to change a few things. I would like to replace some of our carpets with wood flooring, add an island in our kitchen, work on cleaning out and reducing etc etc...here is a sneak at our first project:
I purchased a cabinet at a garage sale for $5.00!!! So we are sanding it and repainting so it matches our kitchen, which is where it will eventually go.
I also have goals for this blog..I would like to post on a regular basis. I am hoping to upload videos as well as more of my own scrapbooking/crafting projects. I would like to have some regular features...such as Wordless Wednesday, Farmhouse Friday etc. I am still working on the details but will have something solidified by next week. Personally, I spend time EVERY MORNING reading the blogs of others while enjoying my morning coffee. I am inspired and enabled by many people and I would like to do the same for others.
I didn't travel much this past year, other than a few shows for ScrapAce and four of the six Quick Quotes Private Reserves. While it was great staying home I REALLY Missed the travel and teaching..so I will be returning to teaching at the conventions and Expos this year..for Farmhouse Paper Company. I will not be teaching at any of the Private Reserves however I am thinking about attending one as a student! I have my schedule for the entire year and look forward to travelling all over the country and visiting some new places as well as revisiting some of my favorites (The schedule will be on a sidebar soon!). My first trip of the year is Next week..NEXT WEEK!!! CHA Winter is two weeks earlier than normal this year..The people behind Farmhouse Paper Company have been working very hard to get it all ready..I am lucky enough to be a part of it by working on some projects that will be in the booth at the show..here is a sneak peek...
I also participate in the One Little Word challenge (if you want to call
it a challenge that is). In 2012 my word was Mindful. I really tried
to be mindful of what I said, what I did, what kind of food I ate, etc.
For 2013 I have chosen the word Acknowledge. I want to acknowledge
that I am good enough, that there are always opportunities to learn, to
do good, to make a difference not only for myself but for others as
well. I even made myself a OLW Bracelet
Do you participate in the OLW? If so what is your chosen word for 2013? What are some of your goals for the New Year?
Michelle,
Let's make sure we stay in touch. I would love to scrap with you, take classes or whatever. I so enjoyed all the work you did at Scrappy Boutique. I will miss that place and miss seeing all the wonderful people. Happy New Year to you and your family...
